# of Students: As many students as needed
Instructions:
In a live connection with students particularly if students cannot all be using a video connection but are listening and responding with an audio connection, maintaining engagement through a presentation of a new language point can be tricky. While the teacher is using a whiteboard function or sharing a ppt some things that can help maintain engagement are:
calling on students by name to read something aloud
asking all students to respond in a chat with a word related to the language point (talking about movies-"everyone text me the title of a movie you like")
ask all students to respond in a chat with an answer to a question
open pair work: "[Student A] please ask [Student B] this question in past perfect"
